This portrait is an oil on canvas measuring 18” x 14”, signed by P. Gambino, not dated.
The paint layer had cracked open particularly in the forehead and it had craqueleure all over the surface.Against the light the damage can be clearly seen. The painting was too large for the stretcher with some of the painted surface tucked away around the back of the stretcher.

It was placed on a new stretcher which made the painting’s final measurement, 20” X 14”
The painting was relined on a heated table then retouched and varnished.

The work done to this picture is 100% reversible
